If you’re experiencing issues with your CraftBot 3D printer’s touchscreen, such as shifted touch input or inaccurate touch detection, you can easily recalibrate it. This process applies to the CraftBot Plus, Pro, 2, and XL models.
Calibration Instructions
To recalibrate your touchscreen, follow these steps: (Make sure you are on the latest FW release!!!)
- Create a calibration file: Open a plain text editor (like Notepad on Windows or TextEdit on macOS) and create a new file.
- Add the calibration command: In this new file, type the following single line of G-code:
M999 S993
- Save the file: Save the file as
calibrate.gcode
. Ensure that the file extension is.gcode
and not.txt
or any other format. - Transfer to a USB drive: Copy the
calibrate.gcode
file to the root directory of a USB flash drive. - Initiate calibration on your printer:
- Insert the USB drive into your CraftBot 3D printer.
- Navigate to the “Print” menu on your printer’s touchscreen.
- Select and start the
calibrate.gcode
file.
- Perform the calibration: The touchscreen will display a series of calibration points. Use a pointy, non-abrasive tool (such as a stylus or the tip of a small plastic tool) to accurately touch each calibration point as it appears on the screen.
Once you have touched all the calibration points, your touchscreen will be recalibrated, and you should notice improved accuracy in touch response.
