How to change Head for support structures inside a Model
Quote from Finn Kurth on 2023-02-05, 14:07Hey Everyone,
I just recently started 3D Printing and have a Craftbot.I am using the legacy version of Craftware, and there is one thing that i can't figure out. I printed a model, that had a mouth, which required support structures, that i wanted to be removable easily. So i set my second head to support mode, and fed it with PVA. Once the Print had started, the Printer kept constantly switching between head, as it was printing the inner support structures with the PVA aswell instad of using the PLA from Head 1. This made the whole Print very time consuming, and i was wondering, if there was a way to fix this.
Kind Regards
Finn

Yes, i did that. I did just discover "touch only" as an option, but i was wondering, if there was a way to assign a head to just the supports outside the model as assigning a head as support head also causes that one to print the supports within the model itself, which because of the constant switching of heads takes a lot more time, which is the issue I'm having

Quote from Jesse Cherins on 2023-02-12, 18:50Hey Finn, did you ever find a solution to this problem? Still having the same trouble as you where I need to have one head running the supports and the other building the body, but I can't seem to find any way to do so. If you did find a solution, let me know!

well the solution for that problem would be, what giovanni posted. When you are in the page with the models, on the right hand side at the bottom there is a button with the labeling "DualMode" or something like that. Clicking that makes a menu appear on the bottom. you need to change the mode in that menu to support mode. Then, in the support page automatically generate supports. Afterwards in the advanced option of the slicing menu you can change the support head under the dual extruder mode in the top right. This is not he solution to my problem, but i hope it helps. If this isn't clear enough, i'd be happy to upload a video on how to do it. Just let me know
Kind Regards
