Support 2 Head
Quote from Lars Linz on 2025-07-10, 16:00Hi,
i want to print the support structure with die second head.
When i select the created support, define the print head to head 2 and slice it. Everything will be printed with head 1.
It happens the same wenn i select head 2 for support in the preferences.
But when i define the main structure for head 2 and slice it, the support structure will be printed with head 1 and the main part with head 2.
What should i do to print main with head 1 and support with head 2.
Thank you very much.
Greating

Make sure both extruders are enabled and have different materials assigned if needed (doesn’t have to be different, but must be mapped).

Quote from Brend Bardsley on 2025-07-21, 03:25Interesting issue, Lars! Have you tried experimenting with different support generation settings? Sometimes, that can override the selected head. Also, double-check your machine profile; there might be a conflict there. It's almost like playing Wordle Unlimited – lots of trial and error to find the right solution! Hope this helps.

Hi Lars,
It sounds like your slicer isn’t correctly assigning the support to head 2. Try this:
Select the support structure, assign it to head 2 explicitly.
Then assign the main model to head 1.
Double-check printer settings → ensure head 2 is enabled for support in both material and print settings.
After that, re-slice.
Sometimes, slicers like Cura override manual assignments if materials or compatibility aren’t properly set. Let me know which slicer you’re using, and I can guide more precisely!
But when i define the main structure for head 2 and slice it, the support structure will be printed with head 1 and the main part with head 2.
What should i do to print main with head 1 and support with head 2.
Thank you very much.

Open Preferences > Printers > Machine Settings
Make sure your printer is set up as a dual-extrusion machine, and both extruders are properly configured.
