Skip Command
Quote from William Savard on 2022-08-09, 17:04I have a question, have you guys ever though of adding a skip command? We have prints with multiple parts that take anywhere from 12-15-30 hours to print. We get parts that either lift from the bed or just don’t look good for one reason or another. If there was a way to add a skip command that would function as a pause and allow you to say, I would like to stop printing certain instances on the bed. I’m sure that this would be a huge success when you have a tray of parts possibly 20 or more and when on fails for whatever reason this would stop from losing 30 hours of work.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Regards, Bill

Yes, we considered it and it is in our backlog.
The GCode that the CraftWare Pro generates contains the information to distinguish the individual objects in the GCode while printing it, so it is possible to use this information to selectively turn off/skip some objects. You can try to configure the OctoPrint plugins to realize this.
The printer's software should support this function to offer a way for the user to determine the skipped/kept object list, and actually execute selective printing.
However to implement this function properly, is not that easy as it sounds. There are quiet a few practical issues that has to be solved to offer this function in the required quality.
Best Regards,
András

I would love the chance to be able to possibly Beta test some of this functionality in a real production atmosphere for you.
