Looking for Tips on Using CraftBot Plus Pro to Improve Print Quality

Hello Everyone,

I'm relatively new to the CraftBot ecosystem and recently started using the CraftBot Plus Pro for various personal and professional projects. While I'm impressed with its ease of use and sturdy build, I've been trying to fine-tune my print settings to achieve higher precision and smoother finishes, and I could use some advice.

Here are a few specifics I'm currently working on:

  1. Layer Lines Visibility: Despite calibrating the bed and tweaking layer height settings, I still notice faint layer lines on my prints. Are there any specific settings or adjustments (e.g., speed, temperature, or extrusion) you recommend to minimize this?
  2. Overhangs and Bridges: I'm encountering some stringing and sagging when printing complex overhangs. Does anyone have experience optimizing supports or using specific fan speed settings for improved results?
  3. Filament Compatibility: I've primarily been using PLA, but I’m interested in experimenting with PETG and TPU. For those with experience, are there recommended temperature ranges or tweaks to prevent issues like warping or under-extrusion?
  4. Firmware Updates: I’ve heard that recent firmware updates have included performance improvements. Is it worth upgrading, and are there any precautions to take before doing so?

I checked this: https://help.craftbot.com/forum/topic/why-is-bulk-pla-filament-an-ideal-gcp-choice-for-craftbot-3d-printers/

I’d greatly appreciate any tips, tricks, or resources you can share. Feel free to suggest slicer settings, hardware modifications, or troubleshooting steps. If it helps, I’m using CraftWare as my slicer and focusing on models that require a high level of detail and strength.

Looking forward to learning from your experiences! Thanks in advance for your help.

Very detailed and on point — I also use CraftBot Plus Pro and find the new firmware quite good, you just need to backup carefully and update, as for the layer lines, try reducing the print speed and increasing the fan, I see a clear improvement!

For smoother prints on the CraftBot Plus Pro, try reducing print speed (40 - 50 mm/s), increase cooling for overhangs, fine-tune retraction to reduce stringing, use PETG around 230–250°C with slower speeds, and definitely update the firmware, just back up your settings first.
