Extend shell under loop areas
Quote from Matthew Ickstadt on 2022-01-24, 23:37Shell areas don't continue underneath loop areas, they stop under the perimeter. This can create a weak point since there is less layer adhesion between loop & infill than there is between loop & shell.

You are right. We discussed it many times with the developer team about what should be the default behaviour. We decided that the infill should provide enough support for the loops, and avoid printing unnecessary shells, especially if you turn on contourfollowing infills.
However if you are not satisfied with the current way, you have influence on this behaviour.
If you add the "Shell Source Area Type" binding to the shell override, then you can select the "Loops" as the source area. (See picture)
It will create the necessary base for the loops too as you can see in the attachements
Hope it helps!
Best Regards,
András

You can click on the binding manager (link icon) on the header of the override.
It opens the binding manager, and you can access a lot of new parameters there. Just filter for the shell, and you will find the "Shell Source Area Type".
