Drop model to bed
Quote from Trym Arve Gabrielsen on 2022-11-26, 17:52This question was asked before in this forum, but the answer was not clear, and it is locked so I was unable to reply there.
If for some reason my part is not perfectly aligned with the bed, there is no way for me to lay the part down. The previously mentioned "drop" functionality is seemingly gone and I cannot find a way to properly aligned the part with the bed.
The previous answer referred to the "printer" toolbar at the top, but I only see "Add Tray", "Orientation" and "Arrange Objects", and none of these drop my part onto the bed.
Could I get a more in depth answer to where I can find this functionality?
(Unsure if this is the correct place to ask, but it is where I found the other post)

There are two ways to get the object on the bed surface:
- Drop
This solves the problem only with Z movements, but no rotation, no alignment. This is available from any Transformation tool with the "drop now" button, and it is enabled by default for every transformation. If rotational alignment is necessary you can rotate your object manually and try finding the optimal angles.- Orientation
This will discover the rotational alignment much easier. You can access it as you described: Prepare Page --> Printer Toolgroup --> Orientation tool
- Manual
If you activate the tool and move your mouse over the object, you will see an arrow. It shows the surface's local normal direction. If you click, the selected triangle will align with the bed and the whole object will be transformed accordingly. Select the biggest flat surface and click it- Automatic
This is a neat automatic feature of the CraftWare Pro. It analyses the model and calculates the direction that needs the least support and has a good grip on the bed. Just push the calculate button while the object is selected!
