Introduction
During Preparation every model on the build plate has Metadata assigned to it. It tells the Slicer Engine how to slice that object.
Context Menu
You can access the Model Metadata Assignment from the Context menu. Right click on the model in the 3D View, or in the TreeView displays the context Context menu.
Strategy
A Strategy is a set of rules that determine the quality, strength, printing time and filament consumption of the objects. In a Slicer Setting usually more strategies are present at the same time. You can have different active and assigned strategies on one tray, so different quality objects can be printed simultaneously.
Model Role
The Role determines the the behaviour of the object during slice.
- Perimeter
The most common Model Role. It describes that the model should be printed in conventional fashion, and it will be the end product that you want to receive.
- Modifier
Modifier is a special auxiliary object. It won't be printed by itself, but it can address a volume inside of a printed object. That spatially addressed part of the object will be printed with different rules that you can specify in the strategy. It is handy to create Modifier meshes via the Primitive Tools, but you can also import them if you prepared the in your CAD software.
- Support
Support Role tells the slicer engine that the object will be used as a Support Structure.
- Pillar
Models with Pillar Role are helper objects for the multihead projects. These Objects known in other slicers as Prime Pillar, Prime Tower, Wipe Tower etc.
Head
You can determine which head will print the model. By default the strategy decides, but it it possible to assign explicit head to the model.
