Introduction

The slicer configurator will let you set up the slicer engine

  • Select edit and manage strategies
  • Change slicing parameters
  • Set up parameter overrides.

Slicer profile

The slicer profile can be selected from the dropdown menu. By default it is called "FDM default". You can have multiple slicer profiles and the project file embedded profiles can be accessed here

Summary can be turned on to see what parameters will be applied during slicing.

Strategies

New strategy can be added, an existing can be duplicated, deleted or converted from basic to expert format.

In the slicer configurator, you can tweak every strategies' parameters which will be used during slicing.

Manage Strategies

You can manage the selected Slicer Profile's strategies from the Slicer Panel and via the settings window.

The functions are in the Slicer Settings button ribbon and in the strategy Dropdown menu

Create new strategy

You have three different way to create a new strategy

  • Creating it with the strategy wizard The Strategy Wizard is an easy way to create a highly customized and well tailored strategy for unique requirements too. Just click the '+' button!
  • Duplicate an existing strategy If one of the existing strategies almost fulfil your needs, and seems like a good starting point for your new strategy, or you just want to try something while keeping your existing strategies safe, the duplicated strategy is the best choice. You can access it via the duplicate strategy button.
  • Convert a Special Strategy If the configured Easy or Smart type strategy is almost right for you but you need to turn off, or on a feature, or change something that is not provided there, you can convert them to an Expert Strategy and tweak them according to your needs.

Delete Strategy

You can delete the actively selected strategy with the '-'/Rename button.

Rename Strategy

You can rename the current strategy with the Rename button, or click in the strategy header's textbox and simply edit!

Strategy Types

Smart Strategy Type

Smart Strategy is a Strategy especially aiming the beginner users. By only specifying the requirements against the printing result, the CraftWare Pro generates the proper set of parameters under the hood. There is no need for domain specific knowledge or extended 3D printing experience. It is capable to create the most suitable results without any understanding of the 3D printing process. Smart Strategy

Easy Strategy Type

Easy strategy provides a small set of intuitive controls to alter the slicer settings.

Easy Strategy is a Strategy especially aiming the intermediate users. By only specifying few of the most important printing properties you can have influence on a great deal of printing parameters under the hood. A basic FDM printing knowledge is enough a fairly wide and flexible control over the slicing process.

Easy mode strategy

Expert Strategy Type

Switching to the "Default" strategy, there will be more parameters to fine tune.

The default strategy reveals parameter overrides where you can have much finer control over the slicing process. You can setup your very own rules here too.

Expert Strategies are Strategies especially aiming the advanced users. You can access more than 24000 parameters via a dynamically constructed User Interface that can be tailored flexibly for your needs. It gives you a full depth control over the slicing process.
