Updating CraftWare Pro

Automatic update

By default the application has a built-in automated updating process. If the computer is connected to the Internet, CraftWare Pro will search for any updates when started.

If the application finds a newer version, it will indicate that the update will start after the application is closed. The indication can be found next to the Login menu:

When the automatic update is ready, it will start the update process right after closing the application.

Windows & Linux

The update process requires administrator privileges. During the update process first the current version is uninstalled so every entry for it is cleaned from the system, then the new version is installed. This means that administrative privileges will be needed two times, one for the uninstallation and one for the installation. You will see the installer window with the uninstallation/installation progress when this request happens.

Manual update

If you wish to update manually rather than using the automated update mechanism, you can turn it off in the settings window:

It is recommended to leave the automated update turned on as the application has frequent updates with new features and bugfixes.

If you experience a bug, first make sure you have the latest version of the software installed. The bug may have already been fixed if you have an outdated version.

Checking for an update can be reached from the application’s main menu:

After clicking the “Check For Updates“ menu item, a pop-up will show with the information about the currently used CraftWare Pro version, and the current latest version available:

It may take a short time to gather the information from the server.

If you wish to update to the indicated version in the pop-up window, enable the “Auto update application“ option in the settings menu, and the update will happen after the application is closed.
